used in creating content based materials
I have come up with the
lesson topic with identifying name of the vegetables for class I. The
vegetables are tomato, potato, eggplant, pumpkin and chili which can be seen
and available in the locality. In order to come up with the concrete shape of
the vegetables, I used shapes like crescent, rectangle and triangle which we
can avail from the PowerPoint. Similarly, I used different form of lines and
text to make the instruction clear to the students. Moreover, hyperlink was
also catered into the creation of content-based materials. In addition,
animation was used to make the information come into live and colors to make it
more attractive.
Instruction
for Content based materials
The materials that I
have developed based on Vegetables will be used as a learning activity for a
child and also it will help the child to identify the vegetables.
1. Before giving the learning activity, the
child will be already equipped with the names of vegetables whereby the teacher
must have showed by bringing the real vegetables in the classroom.

So, this learning activity will be used
as a tool to check how much they knew from the teachers input.

To carry out the activity, students will
be taken to ICT lab.
4.
Then, the desktop will be already opened
with this PowerPoint slide.
5.
First teacher will read and then ask the
students read the instruction carefully.
6.
After that, ask them to click the
correct answer by looking at the pictures.
7.
Remind them that they won’t be able to
procced to another question unless they give correct response.
Effective
use of PowerPoint in the Classroom
With the help of
PowerPoint it takes the learning to next level. Instead of bringing vegetables
and also coming up with the pictures of it, PowerPoint helps in developing the
materials into creative ways. Not only does that help students but also
teachers will be able to integrate ICT in the classroom.
Nowadays, kids are more
of digital natives where they mostly spend their time in using laptop, playing
games and watching YouTube on phone. So, planning an activity using ICT will be
more effective as they are mostly into it. It will bring the excitement in a
child and they will enjoy and learning would be fun in an effective way.
From the quiz that I
have developed using PowerPoint, it will help the child to identify the
different vegetables and also choose the correct name of the vegetables.
Instead of showing the pictures of vegetables and asking the students in a
traditional way like (teacher: what is this? Students: this is a potato), the
teacher can always try using PowerPoint to make the learning more interesting.
The quiz will act as a
follow up activity for a child to check whether they can really identify the
name of the vegetables or not. They will try their best to get the correct
answers to jump into the next question which will make them more curious to
learn.
